"Dawneye, Dawneye, Dawneye!" cheered Lionstripe from her seat outside the nursery.

Jasminestorm padded past her clanmates and into the nursery, squeezing inside carefully. Once inside, she dipped her head to the other queens and settled into an empty nest.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting!" yowled Rookstar from the center of the clan camp.

Ivorywing pricked up his ears and padded over to hear what Rookstar had to say.

"I, Rookstar, Leader of FoxClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Bramblepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do." meowed Bramblepaw.

"Then by StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Bramblepaw, you will be known as Brambleface. StarClan honors you and we welcome you as a full warrior of FoxClan." Padding forward, Rookstar rested his muzzle on top of Brambleface's head.

Brambleface licked Rookstar's shoulder, then sat back and listened to the clan call out her new name.

"Brambleface, Brambleface, Brambleface!" cheered Dawneye for the clan's newest warrior.

Gorseheart padded out of her den, dragging the body of Rookstar in her jaws. She placed the leader on the ground, arranging his body so the clan could grieve.

Cloudkit padded out of the nursery and pressed her nose into Rookstar's pelt.

Dawneye padded over and pressed his nose into Rookstar's fur.

"It's time." meowed Gorseheart to Dawneye, turning to lead the deputy out of the clan camp.

Dawnstar raced back into the FoxClan camp with Gorseheart, letting out a yowl as his paws touched the center of the clan camp. "Cats of FoxClan. Listen, And I will appoint my deputy. I say these words before StarClan so our ancestors may hear my approve and choice...Owlstripe will be the deputy of FoxClan!"

"Thank you, Dawnstar." meowed Owlstripe with a dip of her head.

"Dawnstar, Owlstripe! Dawnstar, Owlstripe!" cheered Thornthunder for the clan's new leader and deputy.

Gorseheart padded into the FoxClan camp, carrying marigold in her jaws. She made her way into her den, placing the marigold into the storage.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting!" yowled Dawnstar from the center of the clan camp.

Redwing pricked up his ears and padded over to hear what Dawnstar had to say.

"We gather today to welcome two kits into their lives as apprentices." continued Dawnstar once the clan had gathered. "Leafkit, you will be known as Leafpaw. Shatteredshade, you will be mentor to Leafpaw. Cloudkit, you will be known as Cloudpaw. Gorsefoot, you will be mentor to Cloudpaw."

Leafpaw puffed out her chest in pride and padded over to Shatteredshade.

"Let's go check out the territory." meowed Shatteredshade as he touched noses with Leafpaw.

Cloudpaw puffed out her chest in pride and padded over to Gorsefoot.

"Go get to know your new denmates." meowed Gorsefoot as she touched noses with Cloudpaw.
