"Let all cheetahs old enough to catch their own prey gather for a pride meeting!" yowled Scarstar from the center of the pride camp.

Meadowslip pricked up her ears and padded over to hear what Scarstar had to say.

"I, Scarstar, Leader of ScarPride, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Amberpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your pride, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do." answered Amberpaw.

"Then by StarPride, I give you your warrior name. Amberpaw, you will be known as Amberfire. StarPride honors you and we welcome you as a full warrior of ScarPride." Padding forward, Scarstar rested his muzzle on top of Amberfire's head.

Amberfire licked Scarstar's shoulder, then sat back and listened to the pride call out her new name.

"Amberfire, Amberfire, Amberfire!" cheered Flamingoflower for the pride's newest warrior.

Thornfur padded past her pridemates and into the nursery, squeezing inside carefully. Once inside, she dipped her head to the other queen and settled down into an empty nest.

Amberfire pricked up her ears and padded over to hear what Scarstar had to say.

"Then by StarPride, I give you your warrior name. Rabbitpaw, you will be known as Rabbitmint. StarPride honors you and we welcome you as a full warrior of ScarPride." Padding forward, Scarstar rested his muzzle on top of Rabbitmint's head.

Rabbitmint licked Scarstar's shoulder, then sat back and listened to the pride call out her new name.

"Rabbitmint, Rabbitmint, Rabbitmint!" cheered Dangerclaw for his new denmate.

Loudpelt padded out of her den, dragging the body of Scarstar in her jaws. She made her way to the center of the pride camp, arranging the body so the pride could grieve.

Stormcoast padded over and pressed her nose into Scarstar's fur.

Hollypelt pressed his nose to Scarstar's fur, feeling the lives flow into his own body, and tossed his head back in a yowl. "Cheetahs of ScarPride. Listen, And I will appoint the new deputy. I say these words before StarPride so our ancestors may hear and approve my choice...Flickeringstorm will be the deputy of ScarPride!"

"Thank you, Hollystar." answered Flickeringstorm.

"Flickeringstorm, Flickeringstorm, Flickeringstorm!" cheered Jadeheart for the pride's new deputy.

Thornfur's chest rumbled as she licked at the three cubs at her side as they pressed against her belly for milk. As she touched her nose to each cub, she sent a silent thanks to StarPride for a healthy litter.

Loudpelt padded out of her den, dragging the body of Flickeringstorm in her jaws. She made her way to the center of the clan camp, arranging the deputy's body so the pride could grieve.

Blackbear padded forward and pressed her nose into Flickeringstorm's fur.

Hollystar pressed his nose into Flickeringstorm's fur, then tossed his head back in a yowl. "Cheetahs of ScarPride. Listen, And I will appoint the new deputy. I say these words before StarPride so our ancestors may hear and approve my choice...Frozentail will be the deputy of ScarPride!"

"Thank you, Hollystar." answered Frozentail with a dip of his head.
