Heatherflower stuck his nose into the air, listening to the clan call out their new names.

Midnightwatcher puffed out his chest in pride and listened to the clan calling out their new names.

"Aspenegg, Blackwhisker, Fernplum, Heatherflower, Midnightwatcher!" cheered Hawkheart for the clan's newest warriors.

Mudstorm padded out of her den, dragging the body of Shadesmoke in her jaws. She made her way to the center of the clan camp, arranging the deputy so the clan could grieve.

Cleartail padded forward and pressed her nose into Shadesmoke's fur.

Lilystar pressed his nose into Shadesmoke's fur, then tossed his head back in a yowl. "Cats of DawnClan. Listen, And I will appoint the new deputy. I say these words before StarClan so our ancestors may hear my approve and choice...Shadowshade will be the deputy of DawnClan!

"Thank you, Lilystar." meowed Shadowshade with a dip of his head.

"Shadowshade, Shadowshade, Shadowshade!" cheered Sparkfor the clan's new deputy.

Palecloud padded past her clanmates and into the nursery, squeezing inside carefully. Once inside, she dipped her head to the other queens and settled down into an empty nest.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting!" yowled Lilystar from the rock near his den.

Smokebird pricked up his ears and padded over to hear what Lilystar had to say.

"We gather today to welcome a kit into his life as an apprentice." continued Lilystar once the clan had gathered. "Heatherkit, you will be known as Heatherpaw. Stonewhisker, you will be mentor to Heatherpaw."

Heatherpaw let out a loud yowl of excitement and bounced over to Stonewhisker.

"Go get to know your new denmates." meowed Stonewhisker as he touched noses with Heatherpaw.

"Heatherpaw, Heatherpaw, Heatherpaw!" cheered Pebbletail for the clan's newest apprentice.

Spiritbeetle padded into the DawnClan camp, carrying a mouse in his jaws. He made his way into the nursery, dropping the mouse at the queen's paws with a dip of his head.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting!" yowled Lilystar from the rock near his den.

Smokebird pricked up his ears and padded over to hear what Lilystar had to say.

"I, Lilystar, Leader of DawnClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Rowanpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do." meowed Rowanpaw, puffing out his chest in pride.

"Then by StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Rowanpaw, you will be known as Rowancloud. StarClan honors you and we welcome you as a full warrior of DawnClan." Leaping down from the rock, Lilystar padded forward and rested his muzzle on top of Rowancloud's head.

Rowancloud licked Lilystar's shoulder, then sat back and listened to the clan calling out his new name.

"Rowancloud, Rowancloud, Rowancloud!" cheered Mudstorm for the clan's newest warrior.

Spiritbeetle padded into the DawnClan camp, carrying a squirrel in his jaws. He made his way over to the fresh-kill pile, dropping the squirrel on top.
